Dragon Quest X With Subtitle Nintendo’s Victory?

We remind you a rather old but meaningful news which shocks the world. Square Enix and Nintendo reached a consensus on their further cooperation. As a result, Dragon Quest IX on NDS and Dragon Quest X on Wii. What’s the reaction of Sony? It seems that we have seen the similar scene nearly 12 years ago: the rebellion of Final Fantasy 7. For too long our culture has said, fortune knocks once at least at every man’s gate. Sony has profited from PSX console since PS1 came out. And now here comes a golden time of his rival, Nintendo.

We can hardly affirm the result of this cruel and endless commercial war, just by one or two megahits Games. Someone said that a wonderful idea might bring a company back to life especially in the very economic depression era. This time Wii goes ahead, by its motion-sensing controls into its gaming hardware. The concept spreads worldwide and even carrys alone my grandfather and grandmother. The older and the younger flock to the game store aiming to the Wii and NDS. The game companies come pouring in. Well we have seen this when Playstation and its subsequent PS2 were released in Japan and other countries. Time flies and all changes rapidly.

Have you ever go to 2ch or any other big game forums or websites to keep abreast of what game fans’ comment on it? Mass of different opinions, right? No matter whether you show your attitude or keep silence, the ending of this drama between two game magnates will be finally displayed. We are sure that’s will be a logical ending, the ending meets the requirement of commercial market and economic development. And please do not forget those guys glaring the game industry like a tiger. Mircosoft has interruptted the tournament. How about another “Mintendo” or “Somy”? Who knows!

Why didn’t Playstation advertise eyetoy on ps2 to get fit like nintendo did with wii?

I’ve always had nintendo games and i got a wii when it first came out and it’s great to get fit, just like nintendo advertised! But when my wii broke, i got a ps2 until my wii was fixed and i got the eyetoy games. I was jumping and moving about and it was great fun and exercise! Why didn’t playstation advertise it to get people fit when it first came out?

The EyeToy did get heavily advertised when it was first released. However, no one really knew what to do with it. There were maybe 4 or 5 games released that used the EyeToy, but all of them were essentially collections of minigames that projected your image onto the screen as you hit/whacked/popped virtual objects.

There WAS a fitness game for the PS2, but it was about as interactive as a regular exercise DVD, and was ignored for the most part. It didn’t use the EyeToy either.

When the EyeToy did come out, there were some people who thought this would lead to a new wave of fitness games, pointing to DDR’s “aerobic mode” as another example. However these failed to appear until the WiiFit materialized some years later.

Sony meanwhile, still seems to be stuck trying to find a use for their camera. The PS3 is far more powerful and the few games that have come out for it, like Eye Of Judgement, are rather impressive, but not much of a “game”.
